State Of Local Emergency was renewed April 23rd, 2018 whereas an emergency exists in Village of Barnwell due to a threat to critical infrastructure from overland flooding.
Village of Barnwell staff and administration continue to be actively engaged with Municipal District of Taber staff and representatives from Alberta Environment and Parks regarding overland flooding in and near the community.
Water levels near the Water Treatment Plant are receding and the current situation has stabilized and is improving. All normal municipal functions in the village are working fine and there is no danger to water quality or other municipal services.
